Khan “Fishtank I-IV” I'm Single IMS 044
Fishtank was an audio-visual collaboration between Susa Templin and Khan of Finland for the World Expo 2000 in Hannover.
In this project, the Expo Café was transformed into a so-called "Fishtank": the pavilion's glass façades were covered with large-scale underwater photographs printed on semi-transparent foil.
Inside, a continuous mix of the Fishtank soundtrack played on a custom-designed mixing robot created by Khan of Finland.
By day, the café-bar resembled a radiant blue pool; by night, illuminated and sounding from within, it appeared as a glowing, blue cube. Parts of the soundtrack were released in 2000 via Kompakt Records and are now remastered for I’m Single Records.
